New Bond & Brook Restaurant launched in Fenwicks, London featuring stylish modern furniture from Cappellini and Knoll | CHAPLINS FURNITURE

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 by jamespress

bond_and_brook_london_011

Leading independent department store Fenwick launches Bond & Brook – a new, integrated restaurant concept, central to the re-design of the prestigious luxury retailer’s flagship London store.

Designed by architectural and interiors practice d_raw, in collaboration with the hospitality consultancy A Private View (founded by Evening Standard restaurant critic Fay Maschler & Journalist and Broadcaster, Simon Davis) the site, as one of a very small number to offer food and drink on Bond street, will boast not only a daytime restaurant but also a less formal café area and a large, sculptural, showpiece of a cocktail bar central to the no-expense-spared space.

All elements of the  design have been created especially for the reclaimed space, most prominently a curtain of semi-reflective, floor to ceiling, asymmetric glass ‘fins’ that encircle the two store-facing sides of the restaurant, allowing the restaurant to be concealed or indeed opened up onto (and mixed with) the fashion floor, highlighting the stores several new acquisitions.

Other features include a full ‘fashion library’ of books and magazines and a ‘champagne burst’ chandelier (a visual echo of the celebratory ambience) rising above the pewter wrapped cocktail bar.

The new restaurant, as a key part of the Fenwick’s major new re-design for 2010, signals a renewed commitment to a stronger than ever fashion proposition plus a stylish reminder of the unique flair of one of Britain’s most charming independent stores.

New Quality CONNECT Rug from Rugs Couture - Winner of the reddot design award | CHAPLINS FURNITURE

Friday, June 4th, 2010 by jamespress

Connect
DANGEROUS LIAISONS

Short pile Connect range combines almost all yarns of the Carpet Sign collection: wool, linen, silk, cotton and viscose. It is a cut and a loop pile structure in one rug, connected by a beautiful silk stripe. The colour recipe of both structures is exactly the same but the two pieces look surprisingly different. The loop pile part has a slightly jaded, fine writing effect and an almost knitted character. The cut pile is irresistibly soft and characterises a magnificent ray.

Vintage Chic
PLAYING WITH SURFACES

The strength of Connect is the possibility to play with the different surfaces of the rug. The positioning of the silk stripe and the size of both designs can be individually tailored to the customer’s demands. Light absorption makes the loop pile look lighter and the cut pile a shade darker. The silk connecting stripe comes in 13 silk colours, creating a tone in tone or contrasting effect. Shown below are examples of how the different surfaces on a Connect rug can be divided.

With this line of tables, Emmemobili and Laviani reconfirm their style of approach to a new design: to create unique furnishing elements, with elegant and “strong” character, leaving to the interior decorator the choice to interpret them in any environment.

Arlequin is a group of tables, made in solid multilayer wood and faceted shapes, then covered in various coupled finishes:
-    Sandblasted oak, with contrast veneers
-    Sandblasted oak and burnished brass
-    Brushed metal and black metals
Dimensions:    cm. 260×90/110, 300×100/120
The top takes up the triangular theme and has a shape of double opposing triangles, with the central part in reduced depth in comparison to the sides
