For one month only, the door to Apartment 50 in Le Corbusier’s iconic Radiant City building is open - and it’s had an injection of contemporary design thanks to Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.

The story behind this project started earlier in the year when Jasper Morrison introduced the Bouroullecs to the owners of one of the apartments in the housing block unit in Marseille, France.

Apartment 50 is not a museum; it is a truly lived-in space that the designers remodelled - but you’ll be able to visit this exhibition of design from July the 15th to August the 15th.

“We decided to feature a selection of objects from our collection of designs which seemed to rightly fit in this apartment and match the way the owners are living in it. As an echo to Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé’s original furniture of the space, it seemed natural to us to articulate the remodelling around the SteelWood collection, Magis - including a table, some chairs and a shelving system”.

Additionally, while remembering that Le Corbusier had a special interest in tapestries, they felt comfortable with the idea of installing a group of Kvadrat Clouds up on the wall.

Finally, a Zip carpet from Vitra and two of the pair’s latest lighting designs, including Lampalumina for Bitossi and LightHouse for Established & Sons and Venini, complete the ephemeral remodelling project.
