Luxurious Stone with a Timeless Appeal - Marvellous Marble products available at CHAPLINS
knoll_saarinen_dining_table flos_arco_floor_lamp_1

As the material of choice for ancient Greek and Roman sculptors, marble has always been a symbol of tradition and refined taste.

So it's no surprise it features as a key element in a host of modern classics, such as Achille Castiglione's 1962 Arco Lamp for Flos, and the 1956 Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen for Knoll.

The beauty of these pieces is that they transcend fashion and work in any interior environment, from formal dining rooms to contemporary living spaces' says Justin Pratt, MD of Knoll Europe. 'Plus, the marble elements are more durable than veneer or laminate, so perfect for day use.'*

Both the Arco Floor Lamp and the Tulip Table are available to purchase from our new look Online Store at www.chaplinsstore.co.uk

The Beautiful World of Ugly Betty featuring modern furniture and lighting from Knoll, Vitra, Cassina, Flos plus many more... available from CHAPLINS
The pilot script for Ugly Betty suggested that the New York office of the fictional fashion magazine Mode should look as futuristic as an iPod. Production designer Mark Worthington got it right away. He went into the job interview on a Friday and went back again on Monday with images of extreme offices in Japan, the U.K., and the Netherlands. After the presentation, Salma Hayek and Silvio Horta, two executive producers of the U.S. version of the popular Colombian telenovela, said, "Yes! Go!" The result is a set that looks every bit as glamorous and stylish as the actors and actresses that grace it...

Cantilever Collection by Alessandro Andreucci and Christian Hoisl available at CHAPLINS
cantilever_collection_emu_02

cantilever_collection_emu_01

The Cantilever series springs from the idea of a chair made entirely in steel with a cantilever structure, combining the company’s manufacturing tradition with its vocation toward experimental design. The result is an extremely comfortable chair, which gives an oscillating effect, almost as if gently rocking whoever sits in it. The lightness and transparency of the structure led to the developing of a complete line: chairs, in the armchair and low armchair versions, a large rectangular table and a lounger. The chairs are completed with cushions in the new Emu outdoor fabrics (solid color and stripes) providing the greatest comfort in use and a pleasing aesthetic detail.

New In Duplo Sofas from Erik Jørgensen have that Mid Century Twist!
in_duplo_sofa_01

Anne-Mette Jensen and Morten Ernst have designed the In Duplo sofa series for the Danish furniture manufacturer Erik Jørgensen.

In Duplo is a series that consist of two sofas in kinship (In Duplo High & Low) that are designed with a common theme. Each sofa consists of a wing shaped corpus that holds a composition of cushions. Like in a stone circle where each element is modified and finds its natural bearing. In Duplo comes across as a semiotic sign and with a strong graphic and organic expression that lead the thoughts back to the new modernism in Danish Furniture Design in the early 1950’s.

in_duplo_sofa_02 in_duplo_sofa_03

In Duplo High and Low both have a dynamic gable expression and calm straight facades. The legs, made of powder coated aluminium, look like limber bridges under the organic body.

In Duplo addresses the contract market as well as private homes: as waiting room furniture in halls and lounges or as a sofa at the office or at home. The diverse characters of In Duplo contribute to various furnishing.

A rocking footstool and a series of small coffee tables (Insula) are In Duplo accessories.
