“I understand you are the MD or owner of Chaplins. We bought a table and chairs from you-it must be 5 years ago. Recently we have had a problem with the table and one of the chairs-something I suspect that is a design fault- we tried a number of ways to fix them, all to no avail. Finally my wife suggested phoning you, although we did not really expect to make much progress. How wrong can you be? We were put in contact with Geoff at your warehouse who understood what the problems were and arranged for the table to have a “fix” to solve the design fault and is currently trying to repair the chair himself. The reason for this email is to say that he personifies what good customer service is all about. He is knowledgeable, courteous and has been on the phone a number of times to keep us informed of what is happening. He is a major asset to the reputation of Chaplins and I thought I should tell you this.”

Everyone I have dealt with has been notably efficient and responsive but also friendly and courteous. From Melvin who quickly corrected my order when I realised I’d made a mistake and ordered the wrong finish (and he kept me informed of expected delivery, which was also spot on), to Mike in the warehouse arranging a convenient and very accurate delivery slot, to the delivery man (Fabrizio or Federico?) who carefully unpacked my table and took away all the bulky packaging.
