Beetle Dining Chair - Fully Upholstered - Warm Earthy Tones

The dawn of a new decade calls for a new look at some of our favourite designs. And so it was that the designers at GamFratesi and Gubi got together to launch three new colourways for the coveted Bat and Beetle collections. A mix of warm earthy tones, cool coastal hues and monochromatic moments, the new palettes emphasise the collections' svelte curves and statement bases — each a shining example of contemporary Scandi design.

Product Description

The carefully curated Capsule Collection comprises 30 upholstery finishes in three coherent colourways, offering new breadth and depth to the Beetle and Bat Collections. The lighter structured fabrics, such as the Light Bouclé – a fabric woven from yarn with a looped and curled ply giving it an irresistibly tactile quality – particularly suit the slimmer Beetle Chair, while fabrics with a little shine – such as the shorter-cut moleskin – show off its gentle curves. Heavier fabrics, such as classic woven wool and velvet options in new colours, emphasize the Bat Chair’s distinctive appearance.

GUBI’s unique ability to bring contrasts together is reflected in the three comprehensive colourways where cool coastal hues complement warm earthy tones with a selection of monochromatic options to balance the two. The ‘green/grey/blue’ colourway works particularly well with cool blackened chrome legs, the ‘caramel/beige/taupe’ reflects the softness of the antique brass base finish and the ‘neutral/white/black’ colourway provides neutral and graphic options when paired with black-coated conical-steel legs.

The Bat Chair is a natural accompaniment to the iconic Beetle Chair, using the same design language and material identity, but with a simple one-piece shell in place of the Beetle’s two-piece split shell. With a unified selection of bases available for both collections, the kinship and symbiosis between the two is evident when they are used interchangeably and in combination.
