About Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquilo first enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture at the Madrird Polytechnic, and then pursued her studies at Politecnico di Milano. Graduating in 1980, she began to work for Maddalena de Padova’s product development office and was eventually put in charge of the office. She then got involved with architectural design, showrooms, restaurants and franchising when she collaborated with the architects Renzio and Remerino. In 1996 she became head of a design group - Lissoni Associati design group.
She was awarded Designer of the Year in 2003, after having opened her own practice in Milan where she pursued her work.
An Italian pioneer of unique and functional furniture which was, to our delight, born in 1952. Moroso is currently headed by the second generation of the Moroso family – Roberto and Patricia.
Both old and new pieces created by Moroso are farsighted and daring, this is thanks to their advanced research, craftsmanship and tailoring.
Today, Moroso’s designs are inspired by industrial designs - such as their collaborations with Sebastian Herkner, contemporary with their partnerships with Patricia Urquiola, and stylish from their relationship with fashion giant Diesel.
