About Isamu Noguchi
Isamu Noguchi studied sculpture in New York and then in Paris as Constantin Brancusi’s assistant. The American-Japanese designer brought his touch of sensibility to every aspect of his work such as lighting, furniture, gardens & stage sets.
Noguchi designed not only a range of paper Akari lights, alongside his famous organic furniture he conceived in curved sculpted wood for Vitra, but he also held an incredible talent for landscape architecture as he redesigned the ancient Buddhist stone gardens from Kyoto at the Lever House in New York, UNESCO in Paris, the Yale Campus and Jerusalem’s Israel Museum.
