Product Description

Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1962, the Bastiano Collection reinterpreted Jean Le Corbusier's modernist principles, revealing once more the beauty of a hard exoskeleton and oversized, sumptuous cushions. The edition that is available today now offers even wider and more relaxed designs to build on the extremely comfortable and elegantly informal concept that generated it.

Materials & Finishes

Available online in Knoll's West Fabric (38% cotton, 24% acrylic,18% viscose, 12% wool, 2% nylon), Knoll Velvet (Cotton 54%, Mohair 46%) or Volo leather. Base available in sturdy Iroko wood. Please note that this finish takes on natural walnut-brown highlights when exposed to UV rays.

Customers can also choose between down-filled or polyester-filled cushions. All cushions have zippers. Arm and seat cushions have a strap attached to a recessed hidden hook in the wood structure to ensure the cushions remain in an upright position. Seat and back are connected with a removable pin.

Items held in stock are typically delivered in 8-10 working days, if the delivery address is within the M25. Outside the M25, delivery may take up to 21 working days.

For items with production times, our logistics team will contact you to arrange a suitable time for delivery once we have received the items into our warehouse.

Place and pay for your order online and we’ll deliver it to our main showroom in Hatch End ready for your collection.

We’ll contact you when your order is available; for in stock items this is within 5 days of your order date, items not held in stock will be within 5 working days of arrival at our warehouse (see product page for indicative lead times).

Remember to bring your confirmation email with you as proof of purchase.

About Tobia Scarpa

The son of architect Carlo Scarpa, Tobia Scarpa was born and has spent his career in Italy. He collaborated with his wife, Afra, on designs for nearly every major international company such as Flos, Cassina, Knoll and B&B Italia. Together they developed a vocabulary for accessible luxury design based on expanding technology and a wide variety of materials. Scarpa was commissioned, along with Pier Castiglioni, to design the first models for the lighting company Flos started by Dino Gavina. The Scarpas also worked in commercial architecture and interior design, especially later in their career. Some of their best-known work was for the Benetton clothing company.
