When it comes to romance, we believe in actions, not words. From an intimate dinner to a last-minute getaway, there are a million ways to say I love you this Valentines Day. In this week’s blog, we’ve selected 5 of the best, a mix of romantic restaurants and secluded spas that will help you do it in style.
The Grove Hotel & Spa
Set amid 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside is the luxurious Grove Hotel. The former residence of the Earl of Clarendon, it has been transformed by the very best of Made in Italy design into an idyllic five-star retreat. Guests can indulge in an award-winning spa and championship golf course, before heading downstairs to one of the two fabulous restaurants. Couples in search of a tipple should head straight to the Glasshouse Bar, where they can enjoy a selection of cocktails, seasoned with herbs from the Grove’s Kitchen Garden.

The German Gymnasium
Voted the world’s most beautiful restaurant in 2016, the German Gymnasium is an atmospheric hangout in the heart of Kings Cross. Everything from the curved Beetle stools to the Flos lighting has been designed to encourage you to lean in and get a little closer, making it an ideal choice for Valentines Day.
If you really want to impress your date, be sure to brush up on the history of the restaurant before you go. A grade II listed building, it was the first gym to ever be built in the UK, hosting the national team during the Olympic Games of 1886. The brainchild of German architect Edward Gruning, it is today one of the best spots in London to get hold of Mittel-European food. Sit in one of the booths near the back of the restaurant and you’ll be able to see a portrait of the architect hanging on the wall.
