A heritage like no other
For Cassina, what matters most is authenticity, artistry and atmosphere. Its pieces are refined, exquisitely crafted and visually delightful to establish an emotional connection with the home.
The story starts in 1927, when the fledgling furniture firm was busy experimenting, developing, and innovating, as well as beginning to collaborate with the time’s leading thinkers.
Fast forward to the 60s; Cassina broke the mould as the first company to introduce injected polyurethane foam to upholstered furniture, freeing form from its traditional constraints and allowing contemporary, curious and creative shapes to blossom into life.
Teaming up with Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1968 led to the creation of the now globally acclaimed Ciprea chair. Among the earliest armchairs crafted from the brand’s revolutionary foam, it swiftly garnered international recognition and accolades, eventually earning a hallowed place in the MoMa’s permanent collection.
Today’s Cassina travels the timeline, creating forward-facing furniture for the most modern of homes. To this contemporary style, it skilfully mixes in divine, age-proof icons that come from the most admired minds of the last hundred years – which it has been expertly, lovingly reissuing since its early days.

The brand’s prestigious archive is brimming with prototypes, objects and thoughts of celebrated designers from across the decades, and it is from this sparkling treasure trove that enduring bonds to times-gone-by are forged.
Starting by collaborating with Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in 1964 to faithfully bring back into production a number of their works, Cassina now proudly returns to life a melee of pieces by design giants such as Gio Ponti and Vico Magistretti.
Crafted with the skills and expertise honed over generations by artisans who meticulously pass down their fine furniture-making techniques, the brand is known for its authentically reissued furniture icons, which are simultaneously pieces of history, and contemporary heirlooms.
