Our collective yearning for deeper connections with our living spaces as well as the people that fill them is coming to be represented in furniture design as well as approaches to interior styling.

Enlightened Interiors
Leaving digital distractions at the door has seen rooms change shape – none so more than the living area and the objects within it. Once sofas and lounge chairs were positioned to pay homage to increasingly dominant screens, which have come to disappear from direct line of sight; seating configurations now reflect our desire to look each other in the eye and have meaningful interactions, and as such living room seating is gathering closer together, angling inwards and enabling engagement. Now, furniture is morphing to encourage us to turn our bodies away from monitors and towards other living beings. Sofas are curling into arcs and angling to point seats towards each other, as if they themselves are introducing sitters to one another by placing face in front of face and creating zones for words to flow.
Contemporary living spaces are now places where conversations flow freely and bonds strengthen. By physically turning away from the digital age (even if only for a moment or two) interior design is rekindling the simple, original joy of human interaction. These considered layouts prioritise not just beautiful aesthetics but also the well-being of their occupants, fostering an environment where meaningful relationships flourish and life is enhanced
