For the iconic Cab chair, fit is everything. Originally designed in 1977 by Mario Bellini, it was the first free-standing chair to be entirely cloaked in leather. The meticulous process required years of study and many a dextrous craftsperson, eventually arriving at a chair that is not only strikingly modern but a world first. Under the auspices of Creative Director, Patricia Urquiola, Cassina have reissued the Cab Armchair in hand-shaded leather, adding yet another layer of exclusiveness to this much-loved classic. Suitable for use all over the house, we like to think of it as a throne for living.
Materials & Finishes
This version of the cab chair features luxury hand-shaded saddle leather upholstery draped over an enamelled steel frame. The seat is padded with polyurethane foam. Sculptural yet soft, the saddle leather "skin" is zipped at the legs and subtly detailed with exposed stitching along the seams.
The Cab Armchair is available in the following sizes:
Standard: W 62 x D 52 x H 82 cm. Seat height: 45 cm.
Maxi: W 66 x D 57 x H 82 cm. Seat height: 45 cm.
