Designed by Mariano Fortuny in 1907, this architectural lamp occupies a special position in contemporary lighting history. Taking inspiration from the burgeoning world of theatre and film, Fortuny created a revolutionary floor lamp, whose adjustable leg (inspired by a tripod) and shades could be used to provide a powerful gush of indirect illumination. It revolutionised performances on the stage and became a firm favourite in avant-guard households, revered for its confident silhouette and quality of light. Today, it's available in a variety of different hues and finishes, to suit homes of all tastes.
