About George Nelson
George Nelson was confronted to Architecture at Yale University and then at the American Academy in Rome. He became editor in chief of the ‘Architectural Forum’ from 1935 to 1944.
In 1946 he created his own Architecture and Industrial design business, and became famous for his pieces he created for Vitra, such as the Coconut chair, his Clocks and the Marshmallow Sofa. Since he started collaborating with Vitra in 1957, his conceptions have been acknowledged to be part of the highest standard creations of the 20th Century. His work is now recognized through out the world as design classics.
