We’re still stuck on curves – and we’re not sorry. They’re just more soul-enriching and soothing than harsh and sharp am-I-going-to-bump-myself-on-that angles and lines. Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen curves move through the home, first on upholstered pieces, then in accessories and smaller items, until the curved hard furniture movement came last year. As our homes get ever comfier and more comforting, curves have become bigger, bolder, braver and better than before. And it feels good.
This all goes hand-in-hand with the contemporary penchant for ‘seating systems,’ seats and sofas that extend and lengthen to create multi-person seating islands which provide endless seating arrangement options in a litany of shapes.
