Can straight lines ever come close to the enduring perfection of the circle? So went one of the questions that shaped Swiss architect, Max Bill's, experiments into furniture and form. This line of thought was picked up several decades later by eccentric Italian designer, Mario Bellini. In 1976, he arrived at La Rotonda, a wonderfully sculptural, round dining table with a base crafted from three curving diagonal supports. Deceptively simple, it builds on Bill's ideas of form to create a dramatic dining table worthy of awe and admiration.
