About Harry Bertoia
Harry Bertoia educated at Detroit Technical High School, Detroit School of Arts and Crafts and Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. As a university lecturer and furniture designer he impressed with the conception of his patented Diamon Chair for Knoll international in 1952.
He was awarded the craftsmanship medal from the American Institute of Architects and was prized with the AIA’s Gold Medal.
