What is an armchair if not a throne for living? The Times Lounge Chair draws on classic influences to serve up a design language that is rich, comforting and eternal. Draped over the solid ash frame are a series of stunning details, from the Pelle Frau leather exoskeleton to the plump, customisable cushions. As practical as it is stylish, it promises to become a treasured family heirloom, passed on through the generations as a beautiful spot in which to read, reflect and relax.
Materials & Finishes
The structure of this stately armchair is crafted from solid ash and features a circular section in the visible parts and an oval section for the lower crossbeams. Never ones to skip important details, felt pads have been added to protect the floor.
The stability of the cushions is guaranteed by a Pelle Frau® leather surface wrapping around the upper, lower and side parts of the wooden structure. The cushions are fixed to the structure by means of concealed zips and snap buttons. The lining of the back and armrest cushions is sewn in a single element while the lining of the chair cushion is independent and hooked to the rest of the lining. Further comfort can be achieved by purchasing with a matching ottoman.
This cushions of this beautiful lounge chair can be upholstered online entirely in ColourSphere leather or in a selection of plush fabrics, details of which you can peruse below:
Melange: A name that underlines the character and design approach used to develop this exclusive and elegant fabric. It evokes the blend and the end result of a combination of different elements. In fact, mélange consists of yarns composed of fibres of three different colours. The result is an iridescent and multi-coloured surface similar to that of metals or stones. Hence the name of the four colours developed: Silver, Copper, Lapis Lazuli and Agatha, which underline the complexity and heterogeneity of the groups of colours of which they are composed. The fabric is particularly robust andthe multi-coloured effect diminishes when viewed on a large and generous surface. It matches the panorama of Poltrona Frau materials with character and elegance. (22% Viscose, 25% Acrylic, 21% Polyester, 17% Cotton, 12% Linen and 3% Wool)
Vega: Vega is the weaving star, the brightest in the Northern Hemisphere, and a perfect name for Poltrona Frau’s smooth, changeable velvet. With its soft, satin-like touch, Vega is a technical velvet made entirely of artificial fibres. The latest-generation polyester used, called “polycotton”, guarantees a surface with a high resistance to wear. It always appears immaculate and is available in a range of twelve exclusive shades. Vega presents extremely high levels of technical performance and resistance to wear but it should not be exposed to direct sunlight. (100% Polyester)
ColourSphere Leather: Pelle Frau® leather means colour, too. The planned colours of the ColorSphere®: a co-ordinated range of 73 different nuances of colours, characterised by the ease with which the various colours can be matched up. In turn, for those who prefer the joyful vocabulary of colour, this allows for the creation of harmonious combinations of the shades both among different pieces of furniture and within the same object. Poltrona Frau has achieved the perfect balance of natural material and surface dressing treatments thanks to its specific technical research and vast experience. Passing time will confer elegance on ColorSphere® by Pelle Frau®, with its interesting sensory profile, resistance characteristics and for its excellent performance during use, as well as offering easy maintenance.
