Jean Prouve

Jean Prouve was born in France, he was brought up in an artistic environment as his father Victor Prouve collaborated with the great Art Nouveau artist Emile Galle and Louis Majorelle as a ceramist. Jean Prouve became a metal-smith before enrolling in the engineering school of Nancy.

His personal knowledge of metal founded the base of his career. As a matter of fact, once he created his workshop in 1923, he became famous for producing contemporary metal furniture with a particular design of his own. He collaborated with some of the most respected and famous French designers of his time, Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand.
