A world apart
B&B Italia is a child of the sixties. Which is to say, they take revolution seriously.
It began in 1966 when they pioneered the use of cold injectable foam — a curious substance that freed sofas from their tired typologies - and would form the basis of every lounger since.
Today, you might find them scouring the banks of Mount Etna in search of a volcanic lava stone that is five times more sustainable than marble. Or else pioneering louche living room styles that would gain cult status during lockdown.
Above all, they are a design house that believes in doing things differently. And with industry legend Piero Lissoni at the creative helm, how could they not?

Well for starters, he’s a born rebel — determined not so much to think outside of the box but to do away with it altogether.
But it doesn’t stop there. He’s also made a pledge to reissue all of his designs with no room for nostalgia. Think sumptuous filling made from recycled ocean plastics. And gorgeous new FSC certified wood bases.
Such initiatives don’t just nudge companies like B&B Italia closer to their sustainability goals. They also show that we don’t have to swear off our history in order to trace a sustainable future. Rather, with just a little creativity, we can rethink how we make and consume, placing responsibility next to beauty in the contemporary pantheon of aesthetics.

Maxalto are the yin to B&B Italia's yang - a seductive and refined sibling of unusual sophistication.
Revered for their power lines and distinguished styling, they double down on craft and quality to deliver a slightly more sober experience of Italian style.
With an adjoining studio in our showroom, they are also the brand we find ourselves coming back to whenever the world feels uncertain. For even in times of dilema or doubt, the classic feel of a Maxalto interior will always know how to make you feel right at home.
